James (Hamish/Jamie) Peters was born and educated in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). He served as a district commissioner and magistrate for thirteen years and was the youngest district commissioner ever appointed. He was asked by then Prime Minister Ian Smith to accept a challenge to win back the Honde Valley, an area on the eastern border of Rhodesia that had been overrun by terrorists of Robert Mugabe' forces. Accepting the challenge Peters worked tirelessly with his friend, Major Nick Fawcett, to win back the Honde Valley, drive out the terrorists and relocate 21,000 people into protected villages. The program was so successful that eleven international television crews went to the Honde to record events that led to the changes. For his efforts Peters was made a Member of the Legion of Merit (MLM). Peters moved to the United States in 1979 after being named number one on Mugabe's terrorist radio and then served for twenty eight years as the CEO of Realtor Associations in Fort Lauderdale and then South Carolina. It was only after retiring as a CEO that Peters was able to record his exploits in the Honde Valley, but had to change the names of all named in the books in order to protect those still living in Zimbabwe. This book describes in graphic detail the struggles, the exploits of the terrorists and how the battle was won. You will see that God was always in control. Later Peters wrote two other books, 'Unexpected Terror' which is pure fiction and then 'Elephant Tears' with his wife, Sallie which records many of his personal exploits as an honorary officer of the game department.
