"Resist not evil, but turn the other cheek. " Thirty-five years ago, Janet Smith Warfield had an extraordinary, life-changing experience. Words she had learned in Sunday school suddenly became crystal clear. Nothing changed. Yet everything changed. Janet was now looking at the same physical world from a sparkling new perspective. Janet struggled to put words to this mind-boggling experience. No one understood. How could she use divisive, analytical words to communicate an internal consciousness shift that was whole and undivided? Janet called her experience a "mystical experience." It complied with William James four characteristics: 1. Passivity (Janet wasn't trying to make it happen.) 2. Transiency (It happened and passed.) 3. Noetic quality (Somehow Janet just knew she knew.) 4. Ineffability (She couldn't communicate it.) Other cultures have called these experiences "transformation", "salvation", transcendence", "samahdi", "awareness", or perhaps simply an aha experience. The experience can be analogized to looking at an optical illusion. The lines on the paper don't change. What suddenly changes is human perception. After 30 years of struggle, Janet finally gave up her efforts to describe the mystical experience. Words that worked well to describe our external physical world just didn't work when talking about human consciousness shifts. Janet shifted her own focus to using words creatively to catalyze the experience in others. What readers are saying: 1. WOW! 2. Insightful 3. What an experience! 4. Brilliantly done! 5. Life makes sense 6. Greater peace 7. Fun to explore 8. An amazing plan 9. Internalize timeless wisdom As a result of her own shift from trying to communicate the mystical experience to catalyzing it, Janet now uses words creatively to bring about consciousness shifts in others. In her workshops and award-winning book "Shift: Change Your Words, Change Your World", Janet offers new ways of looking at the optical illusion of life, always giving her readers choices. These choices bring peace, power, and prosperity into tortured lives. Shift has been translated into Bulgarian and Russian. The English version is being distributed in India. Publishers in Brazil, Spain, Korea, and Germany are looking at it. Janet is a Philadelphia native with a B.A. in economics from Swarthmore College and a J.D. cum laude from Rutgers School of Law, Camden. She practiced law in Atlantic City for 22 years. Besides being an author, a former attorney and mediator, she is a grandmother, poet, and publisher. Combining her fascination with words with her passions for personal mastery, non-violence, people, peace, and prosperity, she has studied with Mark Victor Hansen, Robert Allen, Bob Proctor, John Childers, Marshal Sylver, Paul Scheele, Brian Klemmer, Peggy McColl, and T. Harv Eker. She has eaten fire, broken boards with her hand, jumped from eagle poles, walked barefoot on hot coals, and bent a steel rebar with a partner using only her neck. She is a powerful word sculptress who knows how to bring peace into troubled lives. In 2015, Janet was recognized by Continental Who's Who as their Most Prominent Professional in the Field of Consciousness Education. In 2016, she was recognized by the International Association of Top Professionals as their Top Professional in Consciousness Education.
