JK Ensley is a native Tennessean by way of Missouri, born there and quickly ushered down South. A product of public school and private college, she spent her early twenties bouncing across the country. Fascinated by rich culture, ancient customs, and thick accents, she is compelled to drink in the many exquisite differences humanity is gifted with. A self-described, happily divorced mother of three, she does little to hide her wicked wit, advanced sarcasm, and extreme shoe addiction. "I love to write. In truth, I can't not write. Not anymore. Stories constantly play out in my mind like these amazing, unseen movies. I have to get it down on paper, no matter where I am. I never leave home without my writing journal. You'll see me at a restaurant... Lips parted, fork halfway to my mouth--frozen like that--ink pen just flying, totally in another world. Yeah, my kids just love that. "JK currently has nine novels published--six books in the A Dance with Destiny series (fantasy), two romance novels, and an award winning short story. "I have two more books in the works, as well as a hardback collector's edition of A Dance with Destiny. It's gonna be massive. So there's... Dragon Born (fantasy), and The Journey (literary... maybe) will both be out soon, in that order. I've got to see these current works to their end, because there is another book--perhaps series of books--that is needling my brain. If I don't get on it soon, it will drive me mad. "When recently asked to describe her A Dance with Destiny series, JK said..."Eh... that's a hard one. I don't want to give anything away. It's one of those stories that you just don't want to know what's happening until it happens. Trust me. But, if I had to say something it would be... A Dance with Destiny is kind of like... If Lord of the Rings and Legion/Dominion had a baby girl and they enrolled her in Quentin Tarantino's School for the Tragically Cursed where her teacher was Drizzit, she became best friends with Bleach, sat beside of Death Note, and ended up dating Black Butler... Then, yeah. That pretty much sums it up. It's totally full of adventure and feels. So... Much... Feels." Even if you know nothing about the things she just mentioned, A Dance with Destiny is an amazing story full of love and loss, dreams and nightmares, friends and family. It will suck you in and spin you around until you hope it will never end. "At the core of me, I'm one slightly twisted, pink haired, sword wielding, invisible ninja with a laptop, an imagination, and very little me time. That's just who I am. I'm comfortable in my skin and I love my life. Totally not kidding about the hair, the swords, or the laptop. Although, I might have stretched it just a little with the invisible part." See less
