Jerry Parr (1930-2015) served as a Special Agent in the United States Secret Service from 1962 to 1985. He was one of the agents protecting President Reagan on the day of his assassination attempt on March 30, 1981 and is widely credited with helping to save the President's life. During his tenure he protected four Vice Presidents, numerous foreign leaders and was Head of White House Detail for Presidents Carter and Reagan. After retiring from the Secret Service, Mr. Parr earned a Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University and became an ordained minister. He passed away peacefully at the age of 85 in Washington, DC on October 9, 2015.
