Jill Althouse-Wood is an artist and writer living in the artist colony of Arden, Delaware. Originally from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, she earned a BFA from the University of Delaware and began her career designing high-end fabrics, a foundation for her richly textured and colorful paintings. Her debut novel, Summers at Blue Lake (Algonquin, 2007), sold over 60,000 copies across formats. Jill is now working on a memoir/self-help book inspired by her life in Arden, where she finds constant creative inspiration. An active member of her community, Jill co-created the Labyrinth of the Ardens, co-founded the Arden Artisans Collective, and served on local committees championing conservation and the arts. In 2023, she received an Individual Artist Fellowship in painting from the Delaware Division of the Arts.
