John Guerra is an award-winning investigative reporter who spent his early career covering the U.S. House and Senate, the Pentagon and federal agencies in Washington, D.C. He now lives in the Tampa Bay area. John has two previous books on Amazon, both of which are highly acclaimed works of fiction: "Maddie's Gone", a tableau of desperate lives based in Key West, Fla., and "Just Us: Horror in a Small Maryland Town," which recounts a long-forgotten crime buried a generation. "Just Us" tells the story of a young boy driven to determine why the souls of two dead children inhabit his home. To research "Strange Craft: The True Story of an Air Force Intelligence Officer's Life with UFOs," Guerra spent four years interviewing Maj. George Filer III about his role investigating UFOs for the Air Force and civilian agencies. Many of the bizarre encounters Filer investigated for higher-ups are reported in this book for the first time. To verify Filer's story, Guerra also pored over Air Force, Navy, CIA, and National Security Agency documents to deliver an inside look at how Filer and other military commanders investigated and reported the world's largest UFO incidents. This is a true story, documented and confirmed through interviews with other witnesses who were at such events as the 1978 shooting of an alien on the runway at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Whether simply interested in UFOs or a hard-core UFO fan, this book is for you. John has two previous books, both of which are highly acclaimed works of fiction: "Maddie's Gone", a tableau of desperate lives based in Key West, Fla., and "Just Us: Horror in a Small Maryland Town," which recounts a long-forgotten crime buried a generation. "Just Us" tells the story of a young boy driven to determine why the souls of two dead children inhabit his home. "The key to horror is malevolent synchronicity, the unexpected intersection of bad coincidence and unwary victim," John says. "A young woman's car breaks down on a lonely road at night minutes before two, drunken men on a violent spree happen to be driving the same road. She could have had car trouble on another road, at another time, but fate delivers her into the hands of two morons bent on destroying someone. As the young woman, standing outside her car, notices headlights coming down the dark road, fear descends on the reader's heart. It is about the unfairness of close calls. Sometimes people aren't lucky." John can be reached at johnlguerra@gmail.com
