Keel Hunt is an editorial columnist for The Tennessean and author of Coup: The Day the Democrats Ousted Their Governor and Crossing the Aisle, How Bipartisanship Brought Tennessee to the 21st Century and Could Save America. His new book is The Family Business: How Ingram Transformed the World of Books. Keel is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and received his master's degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. He has been a reporter, editor, and Washington correspondent and has consulted to some of America’s largest companies and institutions – from HCA and Ingram to First Tennessee Bank and Vanderbilt University. Earlier in his career, he was research director and speechwriter for Lamar Alexander’s successful campaign for Governor, and was subsequently appointed Special Assistant to Governor Alexander. He also served as staff director of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and has been a Trustee of the Country Music Foundation and a member of the Board of Visitors of MTSU’s Honors College.
