Keith Hatschek is the author of four books and numerous articles on the music industry and directed the music management program at the University of Pacific for two decades. Hatschek has given pre-concert talks at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Detroit Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, and other music events. He currently presents a range of music enrichment talks about popular music to a variety of audiences. His latest book, The Real Ambassadors: Dave and Iola Brubeck and Louis Armstrong Challenge Segregation, tells the story of three talented artists’ five-year struggle to bring their socially conscious jazz musical to the stage in 1962, at the height of the civil rights movement. Prior to becoming an educator, Hatschek spent twenty-five years in the music business as a musician, producer, studio owner, and marketing executive.
