Born and raised in Palo Alto, Kent graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Political Science. After college, he joined the Army and spent one year in Nha Trang, Vietnam, as an Intelligence officer and battalion adjutant. After the service, he worked for a large bank and eventually spent five years in Asia (Taipei and Tokyo) in International Banking. After this stint, he worked in the real estate industry. Kent started late in writing. He wrote short stories and found that he enjoyed the process and story telling. His first book, "Hearts, Minds, and Coffee" tells a story about 4 anti-war soldiers who wage peace against a Vietcong village. His latest book, "Second Chance against the Third Reich" tells about a soldier who has shell shock (PTSD in today's parlance) from World War 1 and carries it with him in the next war. Around D-Day he needs to save his estranged daughter in Berlin. She married a German officer in the 30s. The novel shows how he teams up with her, deals with his trauma, and avoids near death situations from an SS general who is obsessed to capture him.
