Laurel-Ann Dooley began her writing career as a reporter in South Florida where she wrote about everything from the life and times of lifeguards to the life and times of drowning chickens (not the lifeguards' fault). With the idea of practicing law and writing concurrently, she went to law school and then practiced as a litigator. Alongside her legal work, she established a freelance journalism base and ultimately returned to writing full-time. Laurel-Ann's most recent book is Wicked Atlanta: The Sordid Side of Peach City History, about offbeat and little-known scandals from Atlanta's past. Prior to that, she wrote Best Friend Thief, a juvenile fiction book that was named a Finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards and the National Indie Excellence Book Awards.
