Linda Tischler is a senior editor at Fast Company, where she writes about the intersection of business and design. Tischler was among the originators of the magazine’s popular October “Master’s of Design” issue, dedicated to the people in the forefront of design thinking. It has grown into the annual Innovation by Design competition and conference, drawing thousands of entries for the year’s best design in a variety of categories. Tischler was among the initiators of the dedicated design site, FastCoDesign.com, curating the site’s original team of expert design bloggers. The site is now among the most popular design-focused sites on the Web. Prior to joining Fast Company, Tischler was an editor at Boston Magazine, where she launched the New England Design Awards. She has also written on art and design for Metropolitan Home, the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Maybourne Style, the International Herald Tribune, the Denver Post, and others. Her writing has won the Society of Professional Journalists top award for feature writing, and a “Mirror Award” for best single story. She was recently awarded Fast Company’s first “Design Pioneer” award for her ability to explain the value of design to a wide audience.
