California history appears in all my work, whether it's paranormal suspense (Haylee series), historical fiction (Crossing: A Chinese Family Railroad Novel) or historical non-fiction (Hiking and History self-guided tours). As I research, I also transcribe OCR (optical character recognition) documents for the California Digital Newspaper Collection and the Smithsonian. Since 2018, I've been a member of the Sierra Writers Conference planning committee. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from CSU, Sacramento in 1992. Fur people live in my house (two cats and a dog). They think I'm their servant, and might be right!
