Lise Olsen is a Texas-based investigative reporter, editor and author. Her reports in three states over 20 years contributed to the prosecutions of a former congressman and a federal judge, inspired laws and reforms, helped solve cold cases, restored names to unidentified murder victims, and freed dozens of wrongfully-held prisoners. Her recent work has been featured in the Texas Observer, the Houston Chronicle, and on NBC News. She appears in several documentaries, including "The Pillowcase Murders," Paramount+ (2024); "Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields" Netflix (2022); Death Row Stories: "The Wrong Man," CNN (2015) about the innocence claims of executed offender Ruben Cantu, and in the six-part series"The Eleven," A & E, (2017), the investigation of a Texas prisoner who claimed to have committed an unsolved string of murders in the 1970s. Her new book, The Scientist and the Serial Killer, will be released in April 2025. Her first book, Code of Silence, won the 2022 Texas Institute of Letters' Carr P.
