Marcia Douglas was born in the U.K. and grew up in Kingston, Jamaica. She is the author of the novels, THE JAMAICA KOLLECTION OF THE SHANTE DREAM ARKIVE, THE MARVELLOUS EQUATIONS OF THE DREAD, MADAM FATE and NOTES FROM A WRITER'S BOOK OF CURES AND SPELLS as well as a poetry collection, ELECTRICITY COMES TO COCOA BOTTOM. She is the recipient of fellowships and awards from the Whiting Foundation, Creative Capital, the National Endowment for the Arts and others. Douglas is a College Professor of Distinction in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
