I am of Russian heritage and the daughter of war refugees who arrived in Australia in 1948. Awarded a degree in medical science with post-graduate diploma in Legal Studies, I turned my interests to full time research and writing about medical, legal and historical issues related to the last decades of the Russian Imperial era. Fluent in the Russian language, I have written five books and ten articles (some are co-authored) for periodicals that included Royal Russia, Sovereign, ROSSICA and Eurohistory. I maintain web pages that include Faces from Russia's Imperial Past, Tsarskoe Selo and Pavlovsk: Past and Present as well pages related to two of my books, Alexander III: His Life and Reign and Killing Rasputin: The Murder That Ended The Russian Empire. I am on the Board of the American based S.E.A.R.C.H. Foundation, whose President and Founder assisted in finding the remains of the Imperial Family in Ekaterinburg and is now searching for the remains of Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich in Perm. I live in Australia with my husband and dogs Sasha and Teddy.
