Margie Zable Fisher is a wife and mother, loves Cabernet and the pool, and competed in her first triathlon after age 50. She plays pickleball several times a week and considers it a good day if she achieves genius status playing the New York Times Spelling Bee. Before becoming a full-time writer and author after age 50, Margie owned a P.R. agency for 20 years. Her articles have been published in the New York Times, AARP, Fortune, Next Avenue, and more. She and her family live in Florida. Co-author Rona S. Zable was Margie's beloved mother, a grandmother, and friend. She also loved Cabernet, laughing, crossword puzzles, the pool, and any TV show on Bravo. She always loved writing, and her first poem was published at age 10, in the junior Standard-Times newspaper in New Bedford, MA. Rona always said her life got better after age 50, which is when she published three Young Adult (YA) novels with Bantam Doubleday Dell—Love at the Laundromat (nominated as an American Library Association Best Book and ALA Recommended Book for Reluctant Readers), An Almost Perfect Summer, and Landing on Marvin Gardens (a Junior Library Guild selection chosen as an outstanding book for young adults and a USA Today selection as one of the best new books for YA readers), and a middle-grade novel, Don’t Get Mad, Get Even, with Troll Press. She wrote her books at night, and during the day she worked as the editor of SeniorScope, the largest senior publication in New England. A native of New Bedford, MA, Rona passed away in February 2023.
