Mark Cowper-Smith was a lawyer in Canada for many years. As a result of a radical conversion to Christ he began to teach the Bible wherever and whenever he was asked. In 1988 he, and a group of friends plant a church. The church experienced very rapid growth as well as severe trials. Mark and his wife Shell have traveled and taught at churches in England, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Russia, New Zealand, Fiji, Mexico, Canada and the U.S.A They have a heart to see all of the church powerfully filled with the love of the Father and released to live that love with God's supernatural power. Mark’s principal gifts are teaching and prophecy. Mark and Shell are currently on staff at their church which blesses them to travel and teach. Mark describes his books: "Is God Religious" - The Christian faith was never meant to be lived as a religion. Jesus did not come to give us a more refined religion. He came to give us a relationship with himself, his father and his Holy Spirit. When we attempt to live that relationship as a religion we destroy the relationship. When we live the relationship it sets us free of the bondage of religion. "Reluctantly Supernatural" - I joined Bob to write “Reluctantly Supernatural” because I have always had some discomfort in the presence of the supernatural. I confess I became a Christian as an intellectual lawyer. I had only one problem, it is very hard to read the bible with an open mind and not reach the conclusion that our faith is supposed to be a supernatural experience. Fortunately for me, I had a mentor who introduced me to the wonderfully unpredictable world of the Holy Spirit. I actually began to hear God’s “voice”. I began to experience the supernatural dimensions of the Christian faith. It was genuinely life changing! Since then I have lived to help other Christians to "Boss is Dead" - Our Western culture is experiencing a crisis of leadership. We are no longer a culture willing to be led by leaders whose leadership is merely positional, "obey me because I am the boss". To lead effectively we need a new kind of leader, one who leads through influence rather than positional authority. Find out how influence is acquired and increased in all of lifes relationships.
