Mary Bleckwehl grew up in a large family on an Iowa dairy farm where she learned to bake, sew, garden and chase cows out of the yard. Books were few in her home but plentiful at school and she loved every one of them. Now as an educator and author of award winning children's books, she still spends plenty of time with books and schools. She lives in Northfield MN where she and her husband raised their 3 children. When she's not writing (both fiction and non-fiction), she's reading or chasing her lovable golden doodle, Sadie, off the couch. Bleckwehl does many school author visits (in person and virtual) and presents at young writer conferences. If interested, contact her from her website www.marybleckwehl.com and watch for her two new books in 2023: Arrrgh! Me HATE To Wait, a delightful picture book about an impatient piggy pirate and Fetching Dreams, a contemporary fiction story for middle grade-adult readers about two girls from different cultures who inspire each other to speak up and take action to make a difference.
