Massimiliano Colombo, born in Bergamo in 1966, lives in Como, where he has cultivated a lifelong passion for history and ancient armies. After serving in the Folgore Brigade in 1988, he turned his interest in the military world into a literary career. His debut novel, L'Aquilifero (2005), marked the beginning of a successful journey that led to collaborations with major publishers such as Piemme and Newton Compton, and expansion into the international market with Penguin Random House. The author of gripping historical novels such as The Legion of the Immortals, The Purple Vexillum, Draco, Centurio and Lineage of Heroes, Colombo is renowned for his historical accuracy and his ability to immerse readers in ancient Rome.
