When I began my career on cruise ships in 2011, there was no information on how to get the job, what to expect, or what life would be like onboard. So, I have rectified that situation with "Work at Sea, See the World." I found my dream job of singing with a band every night and being paid to travel the world. The benefits are tremendous, but yes, it is still work. But life onboard expands one's life to embrace all ethnicities and nationalities, broadens anyone's horizons, and creates an intentional empathy and respect that cannot be accomplished in other ways. This is truly a vessel for promoting cooperation and respect among nations and yes, supporting potential world peace. I am now ship-hopping around the world as an entertainment contractor and theatrical production costumer, and am even more enthused about the powder of this amazing employment opportunity for anyone with a yearn for adventure and travel. The long list of personal and professional benefits that support post-ship-life employment are an added benefit that include teamwork, time and crisis management, tolerance, empathy, and position advancement management opportunities. I grew up on sailboats, but now these mega-ton floating cities allow me to travel anywhere and appreciate the fascinating port of life and their multiple cultures and people. I am a citizen of the world.
