I was born and raised, and have lived all my life in, and around, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I can't imagine a better place in which to spend a lifetime. Yes, I'm talking about Philly, got a problem with that? Where else can you eat a freshly baked soft pretzel with mustard, drown it down with a bottle of Franks, Black Cherry Vishniak soda for breakfast, and eat an Italian hoagie on a crusty roll from one of the bakeries in South Philly for lunch? In case you're not from Philly, and are wondering what "Vishniak" is, it's a Romanian alcoholic beverage made from sour cherries. I don't think there's any alcohol in the soda, but it's fun to drink anyway. See, you already learned something uniquely Philadelphia-centric, and haven't even read one of my books! I promise if you do pick one up, you'll find out a lot more stuff about my city, and the unique characters who live here. The city of Brotherly, (and Sisterly) Love is the setting of my five published novels, Murder and Mayhem in Manayunk, Fishtown, (the sequel to Manayunk) and Northern Liberties, the third and final book in the Jack Regan/Izzy Ichowitz series, the Pa Li ti scan (Politician) a stand alone novel, and 60th & Haverford. My next book, Overbrook Farms will be available beginning on June1, 2020. When I'm not writing novels I practice law, (have you ever noticed how many lawyers want to become authors? Just sayin.) Of the two, I prefer writing, since I can get away with murdering people who annoy me, e.g. other lawyers, judges, etc., without being prosecuted. Anyway, I hope you'll be curious enough to check out my books. People tell me they're fun to read. If you decide to to read any of my books and find them worth your time, please tell your friends. One final thing you should know, I'm Neal Goldstein the novelist, not the other Neal Goldstein who writes the 'Dummies' books, e.g. iPhones for Dummies, etc. If I had a middle name I would use it. When I asked my parents why I don't have one, they told me we were too poor.
