Neil Humphreys was raised in a Dagenham council house and somehow became one of Asia's best-selling authors. After moving to Singapore, his books - Notes from an Even Smaller Island (2001), Scribbles from the Same Island (2003), and Final Notes from a Great Island: A Farewell Tour of Singapore (2006), Complete Notes from Singapore (2007), Return to a Sexy Island (2012) and Saving a Sexier Island (2015 - are among the most popular titles in the past 15 years and considered must-reads (by his mother). Be My Baby (2008) chronicled his journey to parenthood and was his first international best-seller. Humphreys then moved into fiction, penning two satirical novels about the Beautiful Game - Match Fixer (2010) and Premier Leech (2011). They were critically acclaimed in the UK, but terrified loan sharks in Asia. Both books were best-sellers. Premier Leech was selected as the FourFourTwo Football Novel of the Year in the UK. Match Fixer also gave birth to Detective Inspector Stanley Low - the rude, sarcastic misanthrope, who also happens to be a genius. The character spawned his own crime thriller series - the international indie best-seller Marina Bay Sins (2014) came first, closely followed by Rich Kill Poor Kill (2015). The second novel in the series is a dark, disturbing examination of the income divide that exists even in death. To keep his daughter happy, he also published the Abbie Rose and the Magic Suitcase series of children's books, which are now being adapted for TV. His latest title - I REALLY Rescued a Goat to Save Chinese New Year - has already been downloaded more than 300,000 times.
