Patrick Worrall grew up in Worcestershire and was educated at King's College, Cambridge, where he won a Rylands Prize for English. He has worked as a teacher in eastern Europe and Asia, a newspaper journalist, a reporter at the Old Bailey and the head of Channel 4 News's FactCheck unit.
