Paul Karvanis is a speaker, coach, author, and a recovering lawyer. He was called to the bar in 2010. He spent almost 12 years in the legal industry, starting on Bay Street at one of Canada’s top firms, then in the private sector at a major international retailer, and finally in the public sector at a crown agency. He trained as a coach with the Coactive Training Institute, and is accredited with the International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach. He’s been coaching since 2017 and runs Leader Rising, a coaching and transformation company. As part of the Happy Lawyer Project, Paul has interviewed over one hundred lawyers, identified the major patterns among happy lawyers and miserable lawyers, and put together what he calls the blueprint for happiness as a lawyer. He lives in Toronto with his wife and their children. When he’s not interviewing lawyers, coaching, or studying personal transformation, Paul can be found playing soccer, playing Warhammer, writing fiction, and all sorts of other nerd things.
