Peter has been actively involved in the strategic thinking process and operationalizing it since the 1967 when he began his career with consumer product companies and since 1981 in his role as a growth management consultant; including his senior executive leadership positions at The Gillette Company and Nabisco Foods. From March 2001 through September 2005, Mr. Klein was Senior Vice President and Corporate Officer of The Gillette Company, responsible for Strategy, Planning, Business Development (acquisition and divestitures) and Global Marketing Resources, reporting to the Chairman/CEO, Jim Kilts (both joined together as the turnaround team after working together in various roles since 1982). Peter left Gillette following the sale of Gillette to Proctor & Gamble after actively participating in the sale and in the change-in-control integration planning. Previously, Peter was Executive Vice President and Corporate Officer of Strategy, Business Development, Marketing Services and Global e-Business at Nabisco Foods from January 1998 through December 2000, and departed after Nabisco's public auction and sale to Phillip Morris/Kraft Foods on December 31, 2000. Jim Kilts joined at the same time as Chairman and CEO. Mr. Klein joined from The Cambridge Group, where he was a Partner and Managing Director for seven years at its east coast office, which he opened in 1991. Prior to joining The Cambridge Group, he was a senior partner for ten years at Marketing Corporation of America, where he led the Consumer Products management consulting practice. Before consulting, he worked in line sales, marketing and new peroducts/business development at Sterling Drug (Vice President, New Products/Business Development), The Gillette Company (Director of Marketing & Sales for Braun North America and Group Marketing Manager in Personal Care), Johnson & Johnson (Consumer Trade Promotion and Marketing), and Richardson-Merrell (Field & Headquarter Sales). Mr. Klein has been associated with major successful new product developments and introductions (defined as both marketing + financial success) as well as over 40 major acquisitions, including globally. See website: www.pkassoc.com. Mr. Klein was educated at Syracuse University (B.S. in Marketing and Finance) and Harvard Business School (MBA) and holds two U.S. patents. He is on the board of a company owned by a private equity firm. Peter retired from the Braun AT board of directors in Germany and the advisory board of the business school at North Carolina A&T. He provides 'of counsel, advisory' consultative services to CEO's and senior executives on a retainer basis and delivers projects via his consultancy's seniors-only Dream Teams across project areas like strategic planning, growth opportunity identification, new product development/innovation, established brand marketing, acquisition, marketing, organization transformation, etc. Peter speaks and facilitates work sessions across a number of business management and process topics based on his strategic and hands-on line experience working at or for blue chip consumer product companies as well as management consultancies and small-medium size firms. See Peter's website for additional background, including two articles written on Peter: (1) 'The Tonto Files,' and (2) 'One of the Top 10 Innovators'.
