A strong and gentle eco-feminist voice in the inter-spiritual movement since 1986, Rashani offers concerts, councils, kirtans, rituals, and retreats throughout the world and at her home in Hawai‘i. Ordained by Thich Nhat Hanh into the Order of Interbeing, in 1991, she has published more than forty books and has recorded fifteen albums of Soetry (songs and poetry). Rashani is known internationally for her unique Dharma-Gaia greeting cards; she incorporates into her colorful collages inspired words from many ageless and contemporary poets and spiritual pioneers, sages, songwriters, change makers, bodhisattvas, mentors, mystics, visionaries, creatives and devout, radical rebels. She began designing cards with words by Rumi in 1988. A passionate earth & social justice activist and prolific artist & musician since childhood, Rashani Réa is a devoted earth listener/steward and farmer, a dedicated mother and mentor, singer/songwriter/song gatherer, a grief whisperer and death doula, an architect and a skilled carpenter. During the past thirty-two years, with the skilled assistance of many retreatants, family members and friends—and with the blessings and encouragement from her Hawaiian kumu (teachers)—Rashani has co-created two off-grid, multicultural, intergenerational eco sanctuaries on the Big Island of Hawai‘i, where she continues to offer individual and group retreats several times a year.
