Rebecca Caprara graduated from Cornell University and practiced architecture for several years before shifting her focus from bricks to books. Her debut middle grade novel, The Magic of Melwick Orchard (Lerner/Carolrhoda), was selected as a 2019 "Must Read" by the Massachusetts Book Awards. Her recent novel-in-verse, Worst-Case Collin (Charlesbridge), was named a “Notable Verse Novel” by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Children's Book Awards and earned a starred review from School Library Journal. She also writes the Mission Multiverse series published by Abrams/Amulet, hailed as a “fast-paced intergalactic romp” by Publishers Weekly. Her forthcoming books include Spin, a feminist reimagining of Ovid's myth of Arachne for young adult readers coming in 2023 with S&S/Atheneum, as well as Doppelganger Danger, the newest installment in her middle grade sci-fi series with Abrams/Amulet coming in May 2022. Her debut picture book, Camilla’s Colors, will also publish in 2022 with KiwiCo Press. Rebecca is the recipient of the Marguerite W. Davol Picture Book Manuscript Scholarship, as well as the Jane Yolen Scholarship from the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators.​ An artist and avid globetrotter, she has lived in Italy, Singapore, and Canada.
