Scott MacMillan works as Director of Learning and Innovation for BRAC USA, the U.S. affiliate of BRAC, a nonprofit development organization based in Bangladesh and active in a dozen countries in Asia and Africa. He manages BRAC USA’s portfolio of research grants along with other special projects. He served as the speechwriter for Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, the founder of BRAC, prior to Abed’s death in 2019. His previous work as a journalist and travel writer took him to more than 50 countries. His work has appeared in Slate, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune and elsewhere.
