Sharon Deur was blessed to be born into a loving West Michigan family with six other siblings. She’s now married to her college sweetheart. They are the blessed parents of two grown sons and two daughters-in-love. Sharon graduated from Calvin University and taught elementary school for 24 years. When Sharon first read Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan in the 1960s, it set the stage in retirement and gave the motivation to write her children's devotionals, Victor Discovers Treasure Book One and Book Two.. She has a deep love and appreciation for biblical imagery and finding hidden meaning in the Bible that adults know, but children can start discovering on their own. Victor the Donkey came from the inspiration and realization that the Bible mentions a donkey more than 100 times. Victor invites fun and adventure to help your children search, explore, dig, and discover metaphors such as the Potter and Clay, Shepherd and Sheep, Vine and Branches. Plus, there are numerous other discoveries of unique “treasures” snuggled into Scripture that your children will enjoy digging into! The devotionals are designed for children ages 5-10. Each daily devotional has scripture references which are written out in their entirety in the back of the book (the “Dig Deeper” section). There is also an interactive activity to give practical application to the metaphor of the day.
