Mr. Corey was born in New York and grew up in Stony Brook, NY on Long Island. Upon graduation from American International College in Springfield, MA in 1971, he served in the US Navy for just over four years. Service in the Navy brought him to the Washington, DC metropolitan area in 1972 and he has been there ever since. In 1974 he won the Naval District of Washington sailing championship at the US Naval Academy and was an ocean racing coach for the USNA after his honorable discharge. Mr. Corey is retired from a career in the financial services industry where he helped clients make better financial decisions throughout their lives. His first book, "The Divorce Dance", was released in January 2016 and became a Best Seller on Amazon. This is a novel that deals with the monetary, emotional and legal issues taking the reader thorough a divorce where the wife educates the reader by her own investigation of what to do as she goes through her own divorce process. Stan’s second book, "When Work Becomes Optional", was released in July 2018 and is on pace to become a best seller. This book is a non-fiction that provides valuable information for those people nearing retirement, already in retirement and for those caring for family members in retirement. It is a primer on topics including government entitlement programs (Social Security and Medicare), the five stages of retirement from transition to exit, dealing with emotions of life’s changes throughout retirement, income distribution planning, and elder law and income taxes. In addition, the book helps retirees make better decisions during retirement to maintain their independence and not leave difficult decisions to family members, friends or strangers. Stan's third book, "Sailing Adventures of Mac Brown", is about a young boy growing up around the water on the North Shore of Long Island. Mac's first adventure takes him out into Long Island Sound at age nine. There are five more short stories of Mac's adventures including; exploring the creek, buying his first boat, discovering hideouts in the creek, helping a dolphin, and guiding a coast guard boat up the creek to rescue a burning boat.
