Despite her small-town upbringing in Nebraska, Tasha Kuxhausen was destined to break the mold. She is a necessary and a compelling voice for a brave new world. To her friends and family, she is fiercely loyal and a champion to everyone she loves; a fighter in the highest sense of the word. After graduating from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Journalism, Tasha found herself pursuing a long career in the wine industry, where she remains. It wasn’t until she and her husband found themselves on a path of acceptance after their firstborn son announced he was a girl, that she was ready to use her writing skills. Armed with a glass of wine, computer, and the inspiration of her daughter’s journey, she writes this memoir in the hopes of sharing her daughter’s courage and to teach others to understand how a young child fights for her identity and acceptance as transgender. As a first- time author, Tasha speaks with deep conviction for what’s important to her. Loudly sharing her story to the world, she hopes to open eyes and minds to the transgender journey—through the eyes of a mother. She resides in San Diego, CA with her husband, daughter Elsa, and son Oliver.
