A quick bit about me. I am from Las Vegas, Nevada. Yes, people were born there. I lived there until I was seventeen and that was about as much as I could take of that. One hundred and twenty-five degree summers are not for the faint of heart. South Carolina seemed a fairer change of pace, Charleston in particular stole my heart. I wrote my first novel, a Western Romance, when I was seventeen and wish I could say it was a writer's paradise from there. No such luck. I quickly discovered the wonderful world of self-publishing and the sales requirements before anyone would even touch my work. A pay as you go scam was happy to see my gullibility and dollar bills. So, instead of the lavish pimped out romance novelist’s mansion I’d dreamed of, it was off to work I went. I did eventually obtain a bachelor’s degree in psychology. While earning said education, I worked as a Youth Outreach Liaison for American Cancer Society, with a Foster Care Program, as a Corrections Officer, a Police Officer, Night Security at a Major Casino, a Psychosocial Rehabilitator, as a Private Security Supervisor, and a whole slew of customer service-related jobs such as grocery stores and fast food. My life has been a winding road, but through it all. I never stopped writing. I am nearly forty, aka “thirty-five”, and on my second marriage. We have six kids between us, but I have managed to write over 25 novels, some of them huge epic tomes, some of them smaller novellas. I write Paranormal Romance, Historical Fiction, Westerns, Contemporary, and Science Fiction. I have gotten a little more savvy with self-publishing and have six titles that are doing consistently well. Just not enough to pay all the bills, especially not after the cost I pay to attend reader/writer cons. So basically, my writing career has been as eclectic as my life and personality (though, I am really hoping me and my writing can take our relationship to the next level, fingers crossed). I am currently reading ‘The Stand’ by Stephen King, which is a substantial read but well worth the journey. I am not going to rep out like I went to the library and picked up a giant book because I am the world's greatest reader, though I do my fair share. No, I saw the TV Show and was so hooked that I needed more content. I got that, and then some. So that is the long and short of me.
