27 September, 2024: As an experiment in marketing, I changed the cover for Reluctant Queen this week. The new cover is up on Amazon, but not on Goodreads. The old cover is also on certain sites, reviews and the like, and will probably remain that way. Same book. Tony Jaehrling has been writing since grade 7, and probably started earlier, though he can't recall for certain when he wrote that first line. While growing up, he was told many, many times to 'stop telling tales!' But he just can't seem to help himself and continues to this day. There were always books in our home when I was young: Black Beauty, Treasure Island, Hardy Boys. And Reader's Digest. Sitting alone with a book was one of the pleasures of my youth. Did finding pleasure in reading lead to finding pleasure in writing? I don't know if there is a cause and effect relation there. What I do know is in my youth I found pleasure in both, and I still do. I intend on having the second book in the series, Hidden Witch, out later this year, though it might be early next year, and the third book will come out later next year. Of the six books planned for this series, Betrayal, the third book is the only one I'm having trouble finding a title for. For this third book, I'm considering the following titles: Witch Queen, Witch Revealed, and Peregrine Queen. I may decide to use one of those. At this moment, September 21, I'm not sure.
