Born in Baghdad to an ancient lineage of Chaldeans (Neo-Babylonians who speak Aramaic), Weam Namou is an Eric Hoffer award-winning author of 19 books and a multi-award-winning filmmaker of two feature films with over 40 accolades. She is the executive director of the Chaldean Cultural Center, home to the world's first Chaldean Museum. A journalist, poet, and Ambassador for the Authors Guild of America [Detroit Chapter], she founded The Path of Consciousness, a spiritual writing community, and Unique Voices in Films, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Recently, she received the Kresge Fellowship for directing.
