I am fascinated by the internal journey that we are all on. I've noticed in my own life that I can feel really good on certain days without much really going my way. I've also noticed that I can fell bad on days when everything is good in my outside world. So I set out to figure out why that is the case. In the process, I spent three years studying the topic of gratitude and got my doctorate as a result. I was amazed by what I found and it motivated me to write "Everything is Better Than You Think." I wanted everyone to benefit from what makes every day of my life better than it used to be. As a professional pastor, I have always had a soft spot in my heart for those who experienced painful losses or traumas in their lives. I was curious about how gratitude would relate to pain. In the end, I wrote three chapters in my book that explore this theme. The short version is that gratitude is very helpful to those who are going through a hard time. It doesn't cover over pain or attempt to escape it. Gratitude rather helps the person who is suffering by focusing their mind on things other than the pain. I'd love to hear from you! Please email me at dr.will.johns@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments about my book. All the best!
