Wolfgang Pie was born and raised in the south. She loves fantasy, researching ancient history, prehistoric times and digging for dinosaur bones. She wrote Tusk after reading about how scientists are trying to resurrect the woolly mammoth by using DNA from a dead woolly and an elephant. She wondered what it would be like to ride a woolly mammoth and decided she would like to go back in time to be a cave kid.
