Hannah Rhodes has just gotten out of a long-term relationship, and she isn't looking for a new man in her life. Greyson Holt's biggest fear in life is to end up like his father, like the man who left him as a child and broke his mother's heart. He vowed to never be responsible for that kind of carnage. Men could be cruel, and that kind of brutality was in his blood. He never allows himself to get too close to anyone, until he meets Hannah.
Something about her makes him want to try, but a man can't change overnight.
Will Holt be able to catch Rhodes every time he lets her go? Or will their chase end in heartbreak?

Hannah and Greyson are the main characters of the book, but I found the sub-characters entertaining. Hannah first meets Greyson when she is in a committed relationship.She met him at a party and then apparently forgot about him. Fast forward a few months and she is single and after a night of bar hopping with her friends finds herself waking up the next morning in Greyson's bed. No memory of what occurred the night before.
Greyson and Hannah end up beginning to date, but from the beginning he shows jealous tendencies and what the book refers to as "alpha male" behavior. Hannah's previous relationship failed because of her bf's manic behavior. Greyson begins to exhibit some of the same tendencies and Hannah has to determine if she is up to the challenge of fighting the demons that have shaped Greyson's behavior.
The story attempts to bring to light some of the baggage that can occur from an abusive childhood, but as I stated earlier the story just did not capture my interest. It was a good listen, I used a credit, but I would suggest waiting for a sale.

My personal pet peeve: I really wish romance authors would stop making their characters say each other's names repeatedly. Think of how often you actually call your significant other by their name in general conversation. This author was definitely guilty of that and is always a big turn off for me.
