Historia
With one speech and thunderous applause, Chancellor Palpatine brought the era of the Republic crashing down. In its place rose the Galactic Empire. Across the galaxy, people rejoiced and celebrated the end of war—and the promises of tomorrow. But that tomorrow was a lie. Instead, the galaxy became twisted by the cruelty and fear of the Emperor’s rule.

A can’t miss political thriller set in the Star Wars galaxy
Revisado: 04-04-25
Alexander Freed really out did himself on this one, I’ve read every Star Wars book he’s penned and this was my favorite. Ties in nicely to help lay the ground work for the Andor series. This book is not to be missed.

Historia
After Englishman John Blackthorne is lost at sea, he awakens in a place few Europeans know of and even fewer have seen—Nippon. Thrust into the closed society that is seventeenth-century Japan, a land where the line between life and death is razor-thin, Blackthorne must negotiate not only a foreign people, with unknown customs and language, but also his own definitions of morality, truth, and freedom. As internal political strife and a clash of cultures lead to seemingly inevitable conflict, Blackthorne’s loyalty and strength of character are tested by both passion and loss.

Fantastic historical fiction
Revisado: 09-30-24
After watching the Shogun series on FX I had to get my hands on the original book. The series is faithful to the book for the most part with some slight alterations. Overall a fantastic book and I will be listening to the rest of James Clavell’s catalog here soon. Highly recommended!

Revisado: 02-01-24
A fun romp with Han and Leia off enjoying their honeymoon only to get mixed up in exposing an imperial plot, and a returning imperial antagonist that I popped for that I didn’t know would ever come back after a brief appearance in a previous Han Solo book. Good read!
