Historia
It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low.

Not as good as the books in the original series, but still entertaining it useful for a mental diversion. There are plenty of twists to keep you guessing.

I started strong, but the politics are a turn off.
Revisado: 03-02-24
The best content is in the beginning. The second half gets watched two theoretical to be practical. If I wanted to study the content, this might be a good resource, but if you want to pick up practical applications., Focus on the first couple of chapters and then speed it up to two times speed on the backside.
Note to be author, the political commentary detracts substantially through credibility.

Is this a joke?
Revisado: 01-20-24
This has been the worst Reacher novel I have listened to by far. Reacher and his companion and get captured again more often than Bugs Bunny. The book boring, and predictable I am in chapter 37 and just fighting my way through to the predictable end. I keep thinking to myself that I am this far and I should just finish it The part of me hates the idea of throwing away that last two hours of my life. Please make it stop.

Historia
Nobody needs telling there isn’t enough time. We’re obsessed with our lengthening to-do lists, our overfilled inboxes, work-life balance, and the ceaseless battle against distraction; and we’re deluged with advice on becoming more productive and efficient, and “life hacks” to optimize our days. But such techniques often end up making things worse. The sense of anxious hurry grows more intense, and still the most meaningful parts of life seem to lie just beyond the horizon.

A few “ah-hah” moments.
Revisado: 12-20-23
Not what I expected. The book had a several moments where I thought “yes, that’s me” and I realized the futility or ridiculousness of the thoughts/actions to which I related which were being described by the author.
The book has some dense parts but they’re not fluff. Most of it is necessary for the story and lessons to work. I don’t really go for many “self improvement” books. Not because I think I don’t have much room for improvement- I do, but I simply find most monotonous, redundant, or impractical. This book is an exception. I made bookmarks and notes at certain times in the book, and I will certainly come back and reread this several more times.
Read by the author, I had a hard time with his voice on, but once I got used to his tone, accent, inflections, I found myself very much enjoying him reading his own work.
Overall, one of the better “self important/ time management books I have read. certainly thought provoking.

Historia
Lisa and Joe Stone, married for 20 years and sole partners in their small law firm in Henry County, Virginia, handle less-than-glamorous cases: domestic disputes, personal injury settlements, or a plethora of complaints from their cantankerous client Lettie VanSandt. When she dies in a freakish incident, the Stones think it's within the realm of possibility that she was cooking meth in her trailer. But details soon emerge that lead them to question how accidental Lettie's demise actually was.

Great Book. This is my second Martin Clark novel and I’m definitely impressed. The book has highs, lows, and mystery between. Also nicely weaves in the legal parts. I’ll read more from Mr. Clark.

Very well done! This is a really cool true story makes me want to dig further into the background. I’ll probably end up, listening to the book, Russians, Among Us, and to the podcast by Jack Barsky. I am especially fascinated by the kids in the story. What a fantastic follow up story that would be in another few years.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

This Is among the best books I have listened to on audible. The background events of the war are waived in nicely with a personal story that really hits your emotions at times. I don’t see how anyone would regret spending time to listen to the story.

I’m a lawyer but not a criminal lawyer but I have tried cases. The writing about trial is excellent - very accurate description. The story is also excellent with protagonists to root for (lawyer and client) and a good mix of other colorful characters. The narrator is exceptional. A very easy to listen to story to help wind down the night.

Good Story / Fantastic Narration
Revisado: 05-02-21
This was a unique and fun story but what really made it fun to listen to was the narrator. there were many details that were difficult to keep track of in and audiobook but that did not seem to detract from the story. I would highly recommend the book as an enjoyable, fairly light read/listen.

ok story with an ok performance. The reader does a good job with Reacher's voice and the narrative,, but the women (and some men) sound very whiney. The story felt disjointed and anticlimactic.
