Are you ready for more Games? Prepare yourself for Deal with the Demon, the first title in K. Loraine & Meg Anne's newest series in the Mate Games world: Pestilence, featuring Noah Blackthorne’s sister, Roslyn as the heroine.

After faking her death to escape her arranged marriage to vampire duke, Gavin Donoghue, Roslyn could never have anticipated adding four new partners to her dance card. First, Roslyn bonds with Pan, a demon eager to please as long as you provide collateral. If your reaction to a demon lover is to wonder how anyone could make nightmare-fuel with horns and a tail sexy, worry not! Pan is a beautiful, alluring creature, with bedroom talents no human man could ever possess. With Pan, Roslyn sets the book’s title in motion, in exchange for an untraceable existence in Alaska.

In a town peppered with paranormal citizens, seemingly-human Asher lives among them, discreetly honing his talent for tracking both mankind and magical beings. Enamored by his alluring new subject, Asher devotes his skills to keeping Roslyn safe as she adopts a new identity. Unexpectedly, upon meeting barkeeping werewolf twins Remi and Ben Mercer, all three can barely contain their instant desire.

As her affections mount for the three Alaskan heartthrobs, Roslyn is soon reminded of the irresistible demon she’s indebted to and the alluringly dominant husband who will go to the ends of the Earth to find out the truth about her “death.”

Regarding heat, (on brand for these authors) Meg & K. incorporate a variety of consensual kink and romance to the intimacy. For the curious consumer, they disclose potential trigger information on their website, www.themategames.com. I appreciate that the red-hot love scenes aren’t gratuitous, contribute to the plot, and foster development of the lovers’ relationships.

I enjoyed the story via audiobook, and the cast set my earbuds on fire! Duet (everyone voicing their own dialogue regardless of the POV) narration is my favorite style and props to Stella Hunter for her, ahem, stamina, while recording with James Joseph, Teddy Hamilton, new-to-me Brit gent John Hartley and my personal favorite, the incomparable Jacob Morgan.

Overall, this first installment and the Mate Games: Pestilence series is absolutely worth your cash or credit.

K. Loraine & Meg Anne's third installment in The Mate Games series is the steamiest, most exciting one yet!

With multiple entities attempting to harm her unborn child, Sunday is a full-fledged mama bear, exhibiting selfless bravery. Devoted fathers-to-be, the mates are ready to tend to their beloved and take charge when she needs some supernatural assistance in any capacity.

That leads me to the heat. Sunday and her men experience passion they haven’t known before when they come together in definitive reverse harem fashion. Though taboo, the intimate scenes are enriched with respect, love, and consent. Sunday also has private time with her mates individually, especially when completing her harem officially by bonding with Caleb.

When they aren’t rocking Sunday’s world in the bedroom, they love taking part in hilariously snarky banter. Specifically, J. F. Harding’s Kingston says what we’re all thinking when not in the mood for anybody’s attitude or lack of common sense. A new character, Lillith’s “pet,” Crombie, steals his few scenes with his moody sarcasm. Jacob Morgan is perfectly cast here, making me shriek with laughter.

Still, James Joseph, Jason Clarke and Aaron Shedlock don’t disappoint as Noah, Gabriel and Alek, respectively. Their tones match each character, helping me visualize them. Voicing every female, I’m starting to believe Stella Hunter can do no wrong. As a narrator-motivated listener, I can count on Stella to deliver top-notch performances.

Now on Book Three of The Mate Games, Meg and K. have transitioned from one story to the next with ease and clarity. To say there’s a lot going on is an understatement. Expertly, their style creates a movie in my mind with a wonderful balance of specificity and smooth pacing. There is also a perfect mix of humor to offset the serious danger facing the group.

Ending with the most exciting cliffhanger yet, Possession is undoubtedly worth your cash or credit. After, you'll be itching to finish the series with Temptation, Caleb's story.

*I received an Audibly Addicted ALC in exchange for my honest review

K. Loraine & Meg Anne's second installment in The Mate Games series will absolutely have you falling for Kingston. While Obsession focused on Noah and Sunday, Rejection puts Kingston front and center, as he helps Sunday finally accept, release, and embrace her inner wolf.

I’m embarrassed to say I misjudged him in Book 1. I thought, “Kingston, she’s just not that into you, pup. Move on, sweetie.” But boy was I mistaken. I fell in love with Kingston and his unfailing devotion to Sunday, in spite of her dismissal. Sunday’s experience as a wolf is amazing to witness. I did get a bit annoyed with Noah's hints of jealousy in this story but I still love the moody, sexy bloodsucker.

Though she’s now marked by two men, Sunday can’t resist Alek and Daddy Gabriel for some supplemental supernatural bonding. Alek and Gabriel are their own hype men when it comes to building anticipation for Books 3 and 4.

Similar to Book 1, the spicy scenes are red hot and readers and listeners can find potential trigger information on their website for The Mate Games. Specifically, you’ll need to cool down after Kingston and Sunday’s outdoor adventures. When Sunday gives in to the unfamiliar craving she’s been fighting, the sparks could ignite a forest fire!

Regarding narration: This series is only my second experience with J.F. Harding and I’m asking myself, "Where has he been all my listening life?" J.F. brings Kingston’s sincere, raw emotions to the forefront in his human form and unleashes intimidating alpha dominance when he’s protecting Sunday. Additionally, James Joseph, Jason Clarke and Aaron Shedlock brought their A game, reprising their roles of Noah, Gabriel and Alek, respectively. As every female in the story, Stella Hunter’s versatility makes me love her more and more. With every story in the series, I’m getting to know the character’s deeper thanks to K. and Meg’s thoughtful character development and smooth plot progression.

Don’t be deterred by the fact this one ends on a cliffhanger. Rejection is undoubtedly worth your cash or credit.

*I received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

We meet Scarlett and Parish as they cope with grief following heartbreaking tragedies. Scarlett lost her sister and brother-in-law in a car accident, abruptly becoming the guardian of her teenage nephew. She moves into the family’s beach house next to Parish, who lost his young son in a school shooting and uses alcohol to treat his severe depression.

Throughout, Leslie Pike uses humor and banter appropriately to ease the heaviness of the material. I appreciate her realistic yet respectful approach to the serious topics of alcoholism and gun violence.

Though not a slow burn, it takes the characters a while to become intimate. These scenes are described with some specificity and fade to black after explicit foreplay.

The narrators, Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are perfectly cast as this couple. Joe exhibits the forlorn, somewhat hermited personality of Parish without sounding grumpy. Maxine expertly navigates between Scarlett's anxiety as a "new parent" and her identity as a woman falling in love.

Overall this story is worth a credit or cash, and reminds us to appreciate our loved ones because time is short.

Erin Mallon's newest audio play, Rise of the Machine, (These Walls Can Talk, Book 3) will have you shrieking with laughter so be mindful of your location when listening. Greatly anticipated, we're granted a front row seat to the next chapter in the characters’ always entertaining lives.

Atticus and Neil have become a "mmm-mmm" romance power couple dubbed, “Swallow the Johnson;” Neil and Georgia are busy with a newborn; Vera and Cameron are on the wrong side of the AI narrator debate, putting friendships at risk; Niffer and Andrea are about to become an author/narrator pair, and Atticus and Frankie are toothache sweet with their literal puppy love.

The original TWCT cast and newcomers from The Narwhal Strikes Back! return with a very special addition, Jason Clarke! Regarding their style, Joe Arden’s dryness and comedic timing as Atticus had me cackling, as usual. Also, Teddy Hamilton’s energy as anxious, excitable Neil never quits. As Artie Smarts, the new “narrator” on the block, Jason’s gives Artie a realistic tone; not a caricature of a robot. The entire cast gave 100% to their characters and the story,

Erin Mallon continues to earn her triple threat status as a playwright and narrator, while also writing novels. If you’re ready for more hilarity and behind the scenes access to the lives of those in the industry, including friendships, rivalries and birthday parties that bring all the feels, designate your next credit for Rise of the Machine!

*I received an Advanced Listener Copy in exchange for my honest review*

K. Loraine & Meg Anne's debut collaboration is a solid hit. Their individual paranormal romance voices blend to craft an exciting new series fans affectionately call, Super Harem.

Sunday Fallon can’t resist the pull of attraction to four unique men she meets at Ravenscroft University. Vampires Noah and Caleb (a priest before immortality), werewolf Kingston and demi-god Alek each believe the beautiful shifter is their destiny. Though we have a thorough introduction to the men, Book 1 focuses on her growing bond with Noah. Throughout the story, all of the men devote themselves to the mission of keeping Sunday safe from an unfamiliar threat, while having some spicy fun along the way.

In regards to heat, Meg & K incorporate a variety of kink and the results are red hot! With genuine consideration for their audience, the authors disclose potential trigger information at www.themategames.com. While sinfully spicy, intimate scenes aren’t gratuitous, contribute to the plot and foster development of the lovers’ relationships.

Regarding the audio, oh, the narrators! New kid on the romance block James Joseph will set your earbuds on fire. He’s likely the hottest British voice I’ve ever heard; that’s including my British husband and even… THAT narrator. Yep, I said what I said. Duet-style (everyone voicing their own dialogue regardless of the POV) is my favorite narration and props to Stella Hunter for her, ahem, stamina while recording with the likes of James, J.F. Harding, and Aaron Shedlock and Jason (Effing!) Clarke. Also, veteran Brit Shane East pops in, briefly. In particular, James Joseph stands out from the pack with a voice that I’d want to proclaim me as his chosen one.

Overall, this first installment in the Mate Games series is absolutely worth your cash or credit. I'm ready to collect all four stories in this spicy reverse harem!

Get ready! From the playful and sarcastic banter to the scorching hot love scenes, you’ll be entertained from start to finish.

At the heart of the story is the connection between famous actor Dylan and his (albeit briefly) therapist Scarlett, also a single mom. You’ll be rooting for them from the moment of their grocery store meet cute. Throughout the story, Dylan and Scarlett‘s growth personally and within the relationship is measurable and meaningful. They face low-angst challenges but with compromise and perseverance, this couple earns their HEA.

In this romantic comedy, Kayley Loring approaches the subject of mental health realistically, with care, and tasteful doses of humor. One of the funniest elements is the Brodie family interaction and group text exchanges. Whether it’s Mama Brodie’s NSFW autocorrect fails or Dylan, Owen, and Miles ribbing each other, prepare to cackle with laughter. Also, Scarlett’s son, Noah, is a riot with his enthusiasm for fart jokes.

The duet narration makes the story a smooth listen and Kayley’s vivid details play out like a movie in your head. The ensemble cast shines as supporting characters to offer reality checks and valuable advice to Dylan and Scarlett as they struggle with indecision. Emily Woo Zeller shows great range when voicing Scarlett. There is a clear distinction in tone when we see Scarlett as a woman, therapist, and mother. Importantly, Emily’s accent as Scarlett’s Chinese-speaking mother sounds natural and authentic. Zachary Webber is perfectly cast as playful, flirty Dylan and energetic young Noah. As Dylan, with multiple spicy scenes from the male POV, prepare to swoon.

Overall, you won’t regret spending a credit, or even cash on The Attachment Theory.

A Spin in the Right Direction

Plot - You Spin Me tells the story of two characters struggling with physical and mental health conditions that affect their daily lives and hinder their ability to develop trusting romantic relationships. Jess struggles with a variety of conditions and Cal is a burn survivor after a childhood accident. The development of their friendship and romance is organic and we witness them overcome some of their insecurities along the way.

Narration - Vanessa Edwin’s gentle yet expressive tone conveys Jess’s emotions effortlessly and we share her anxiety, pain and joy. This is my first title with Eric Michael Summerer and I was impressed. He has a smooth tone and, like Vanessa, shows feeling with just the right amount of drama. At just over nine hours, their thoughtful pacing made the time pass quickly.

Style - The ‘80s references are smile-inducing for anyone familiar with the decade. Karen Grey’s choice to begin chapters with radio deejay intros made every transition feel fresh and exciting. The plot moves smoothly with a focus on character development. It’s certainly a proverbial page-turner. By the end of the story, conflicts are resolved and the couple earns their HEA.

The Heat - This one is a slow burn. Although I prefer romance titles show more intimacy, I didn't feel like it was lacking. The intimacy they developed was necessarily emotional. When the physical moments arrive, they will be worth the wait.

Overall - You Spin Me is definitely worth a credit or cash. Be sure to check out other titles in the Boston Classics series for more decade-specific nostalgia.

The Net Will Appear documents the rooftop-born friendship of neighbors Rory, (age nine) and Bernard, (age 75). Rory travels to the roof to escape a hectic household with her mother, bonus dad and baby sister. Bernard seeks respite on the roof from the heartache of seeing his wife’s cognition wither with dementia.

Initially, Rory’s inquisitive nature and penchant for oversharing annoy Bernard but his heart softens when Rory’s spirit reminds Bernard of his own daughter. In fact, Rory is a character who could soften anyone’s heart with her spritely attitude, intelligence, and genuine concern for others. At first glance, Bernard fits the grumpy old man stereotype. But as the story progresses, we gain insight into Bernard’s past which warrants his occasionally sour attitude. Their conversations are hilarious and deep at the same time. This depth is mainly visible toward the end of the play when events challenge their new-found friendship.

Matilda Lawler shines as the wise-beyond-her-years Rory. Matilda's comedic timing is impressive and her delivery is spot on. Any listener will see Matilda has a bright future ahead of her. Veteran actor Richard Masur shows his wide range of talent with his humor and emotional vulnerability as Bernard.

Playwright Erin Mallon shines again with this meaningful story which includes natural dialogue peppered with pop culture references and quirky humor. In characterizing Rory, Mallon’s eye for children's consciousness is keen. Although Rory is mature, Mallon includes important reminders of her youth, such as references to bodily functions and the playful nickname for her new friend: Nard. While incorporating Bernard’s personal story, Erin treats his painful hardships with dignity and respect. We understand Bernard instead of judge him.

Overall, the play gives listeners a gentle reminder to appreciate the beautiful relationships in our lives. I highly recommend this audio play.
