Frustrating
Revisado: 10-26-24
I was very disappointed in this story. Georgia should have been a stronger woman. I couldn’t stand the Duke and did not like the way he trapped her into marriage. Why can’t an author write a story that includes woman that will not acquiesce to everyone’s wishes. G should have put her foot down. I read to enjoy and not to get frustrated!

Historia
On his way to claim his late father's title, highland chief Connor Brunwood stumbles upon an English lass in a deserted clearing. She's dressed like a man, in shirt and breeches, her blond tresses hidden under a large hat and a foil in her hand, as she practices the art of sword-fighting. Awed by the sight of her spirited, blue eyes, and graceful, yet alluring movements, Connor calls her bluff, vowing that he will make her his wife. However, that is easier said than done.

Hard to get through
Revisado: 07-27-24
I did not like Connor (the hero) for the first 1/3 of the book. He should have been more patient with Henrietta (the heroine) in the beginning and not insist they share the same bed. He should have gained her agreement to marry as well and gotten to know her better. His chuckling drove me crazy as he wasn’t sensitive to the situation. Why was it ok to transplant another individual against their will and expect them to fit in and have a relationship with them? The whole vision thing was too outlandish. The ending was disappointing. Why wasn’t there more information about the brother in this book. I am not going to bother reading his story. All and all, not worth a credit.

Historia
Lady Amelia Chesterfield’s willfulness has caused great consternation for her parents over the years, but they are nonetheless taken aback by her appalling and indecent response to their attempts to marry her to a man of their choosing. The scandal which ensues as a result of Amelia’s wanton behavior seems certain to complete the ruin of her family’s already tattered reputation, and thus it comes as a shock to the entire household when Garrett Darmley, the heir to the richest estate in the region, makes his own offer of marriage to Amelia. Garrett is no fool, and he has his own ...

I can’t believe this rubbish was published. This is porn and domination nonsense and not a regency romance. I couldn’t continue with the story after the second chapter.

I was a confirmed bachelor. I was married to my work and committed to nothing more. No woman was going to change that. Eva is my best friend and needed a life-changing favor: marry her so she could gain custody of her niece. A marriage of convenience that would only last a year, tops.

So so- not worth a credit. Sorry!
Revisado: 07-25-24
I was very disappointed. The overall story was charming but several negative things challenged my enjoyment: too much internal discourse with unnecessary descriptions of personal actions(for example, I opened the door and crossed the room…etc); too many sexual references to a point it was offensive; poor introduction/explanation of characters from previous book(s); tendency to focus on minor details with poor character development and transitions for overarching events; too lengthy; geared towards college kids: major holes throughout; could stop listening at any point with no excitement to listen again; and unrealistic comments/discourse with loosely related prose. 😞

A handsome, older Marquess rescued me on a dreadful night. Lord Christopher Seymour, the Marquess of Meadowbrook, a powerful and wealthy figure, bore the scars of his past—a speech impediment and a broken heart. His life was shrouded in mystery and solitude. In my desperate escape from an abusive home, I, a simple yet spirited young woman, disguised myself as a boy. His timely intervention offered me refuge, transforming my life in ways I never imagined. Under his roof, I discovered not only his gruff exterior but also a heart brimming with kindness. As he taught me to read and write, our...

Sweet Story :)
Revisado: 07-02-24
Lovely story with good character development. There were a few missing pieces. For example, there should have been a more in depth discussion about her accent, etc. Otherwise, charming and heartwarming. I do like the fact that the sexual content was not included. Virtual voice was challenging as it is difficult to discern different speakers. :)

I never thought I would see him again. Especially while I was planning someone else’s wedding—yet there he was, holding hands with his girlfriend. Our one night was wild and passionate. I could never forget him because it changed my life. Now he’s here—and the result of our one night is twirling in a princess dress at our feet.

Horrific!
Revisado: 06-02-24
I don’t even know where to begin. The characters were unlikeable. The storyline was weak with minimal character development. I had to skip sections to avoid getting upset. The heroine, if you want to call her that, was a weak insipid character. The hero was worse with little to recommend him. The parents particularly the father didn’t care about his daughter and was more anxious to sell her off. I couldn’t stand the virtual narration and the story! Sorry! I read for pleasure not to raise my blood pressure!

Don’t bother
Revisado: 03-16-24
The author portrays men negatively and women as weak beings. Most of the characters are unlikeable. Little effort was made to develop the characters. An earl’s daughter is a lady and not honorable. The author needs to brush up on her history. I skipped sections due to frustration. The virtual narrator was horrific with difficulty discerning specific characters.

I loved this book! The author did a fabulous job with character development. I loved the H&H relationship and smiled several times throughout the book. My only complaint was the bit long introduction. Otherwise, it is not to be missed. 😊
