Historia
Callie Evans isn’t exactly living her best life in Los Angeles. She dropped out of college, has been repeatedly fired, and is now literally watching paint dry at a hardware store for a living. This depressing existence isn't what she had planned for her early 20s. Although she’s faced a shattering trauma, she’s learning that avoiding grief has owned her for far too long. A change of scenery might be what she needs to regroup and move forward. Callie takes a few months away from her California chaos to handle renovations on her family’s old house in small-town Vermont.

A beautiful story of rebuilding your life
Revisado: 06-10-22
It's been a while since I have read (well listened) to a Jessica Park book and I am so glad I returned with this book.
Jessica gives life to her characters through her writing and Callie is a character that needed to be written. She's lived a life in California after the tragic death of her father, but has returned to her hometown and is reborn. The friends she had as a child and some new friends, bring her back to life in a way she never imagined.
I loved watching Callie change into a beautiful woman, more inspired, more confident than she had ever been.
Seeing her remodel her childhood home was a delight and inspired me to want to change a few things around my own house!
The connection between her and Danny is epic, but every character within this book brought something to the table (the brunch table, every Sunday). Wake, Vermont sounds like a delightful place to live and fall in love thanks to Jessica Park's beautiful writing.
The enjoyed the narration, my only dislike was the narrator's accents with a few of the characters but it did not take anything away from the audible or story at all!

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.

Not your typical audible but entertaining
Revisado: 04-14-22
I wasn't quite sure what to think when I first began listening. The background noise behind the characters talking took a while to get used to. I kept thinking I was hearing those noises where I was!
This audible was almost like I was sitting behind Gwen and Sam and listening in on their conversation. And if I was behind them - I would have enjoyed hearing their banter and awkwardness between each other.
I did enjoy the characters and their willingness to delve into the "deeper" stuff in their lives with a stranger but honestly, sometimes that's the best way to get things off your chest. These two start as strangers but end as more than friends.
Sam is such a good guy and Gwen has a little secret and she's worried it will ruin their friendship.

A Hallmark Channel Movie on Audible
Revisado: 12-20-21
I am sad to say I didn't listen to the first book in this series because I absolutely enjoyed this audible. Merry and Clark's story is a mix of single dad romance, second chance romance, and some slow burn mixed in. There are times this book was sweet as Hallmark and the next moment it was HBO Max-level sexy! (Not complaining at all).
I do enjoy a good Hallmark movie but I am a busy mom of 4 who is cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping and running around all the time so movies don't happen often for me - so this was the next best thing. I enjoyed the banter between these two (and I loved Clark's brother Sam - and I hope he's next on the list for a book).
The narrators did a great job bring these characters to life.

Historia
As a doctor, I walk a dangerously delicate balance of being compassionate but not overly invested. The same is true in my personal life - love is a luxury I can’t afford. It isn’t until Dr. Westin Grant breaks down all my walls and offers me a future, I find myself wondering if I’m brave enough to risk my heart. When who I was and who I’ve tried to become collide during my clinical trial, the fate of one patient changes everything.

Beautiful and Emotional read
Revisado: 07-01-21
I know that every time I read a Corinne Michaels book I say - "this one's my favorite" but seriously - this one might be my new favorite.
Corinne Micheals had everything in this book to make you not want to stop reading (or listening). I listened to the audible and the narrator was perfect. I was brought right into this story and often times I didn't know what I wanted for these characters. I was/am so invested in their lives.
Our main character Serenity - had NO serenity in her life. She was dealt a situation that no one could ever imagine (well - except Corinne Micheals). The angst and turmoil in this book were at epic proportions and thankfully- I am an angst whore.
I shed more than a few tears while reading and this book took a turn I didn't see coming. Wow is all I can say! Thank you Corinne Micheals for this fabulous book.

Fantastic narrattion
Revisado: 06-11-21
This might be my first Louise Bay book...I have always heard such great things about her!
First and foremost - I think the narration of this book was freaking fantastic. The narrators brought these characters to life.
The story - a bit predictable at times, some insta love (absolutely) but also sprinkled with some angst. I did enjoy listening, I would definitely read more Louise Bay - it was just missing a little something - maybe more of a courtship before the I love you's came in would have been my preference but I still enjoyed their story and yeah - Louise Bay has some sexy in this book that rivals the best of them

When Anna wakes up from a coma after a car crash, she discovers life has gone on without her. Her husband has been unfaithful - with her best friend - and she’s been long since replaced at work. While her old life is a distant memory, her new life feels like an empty shell. Then she meets the stranger who saved her life during the crash, and he changes everything. Leif Larsen - tattooist, joker, and player - has his own scars thanks to the crash that put Anna in a coma. Helping her move on from her failed marriage, and create a new life, sounds like a perfect distraction.

Another intriguing Kylie Scott Romance
Revisado: 04-18-21
I have been a Kylie Scott fan since 2013 when she began the Stage Dive series. I listened to another audible original (Repeat) in 2019 and low and behind Leif is brothers with our hero in Repeat. So he's not really a new character but we get to know so much more of him in Pause.
Leif was involved in an accident and one of the other victims of the hit and run is Anna. She was hurt worse than Leif and has just woken up from a coma. Her life is in tatters and she befriends Leif. He is a good guy...not the typical man for Anna but he understands her more than she can imagine and their relationship begins as friends and becomes more with time as they both see that they are meant to be together. It's a rough journey at times but the journey is often more important than the destination. Kylie Scott once again gives us a strong female character and a sweet (but tough exterior) male character that perfectly matched together.
Andi Arndt always does a fantastic job of bringing characters to life with her narration.

Jewel E Ann does it again! Not surprised though!
Revisado: 03-31-21
I had the pleasure of reading this book and now I have listened to the Audible and once again- I am absolutely at a loss for words over how much I love this book.
Jewel E. Ann is one of the authors who I have just found in the past year or so and I just can't say enough about her writing, her characters, and her brilliant storytelling.
This book runs the gamut of emotions from sobbing tears to outright laughing. These characters will fill your heart with joy and then deflate it with sadness. But their journey was meant to be, their past a part of their future. This was one of my favorite reads of 2020 and the audible will be on my favorites for 2021.
My only criticism for this audible was that I would have preferred a male narrator for Nathaniel but this book is so freaking amazing that it doesn't even deter me from rating it 5 stars. It's just a preference I have when it's dual POV.

After the way my first love took off for the ends of the earth, the last thing I want is to see him on billboards and bookstore bestseller shelves. Now my boss just handed me the project that could make my career. All I have to do is partner up with the man, the myth, the legend - adventurer Hunter Armstrong. That's easier said than done, because when we reconnect, I learn Hunter has his own agenda on this project. And it's not to find a treasure in art and antiques. It's me. But what we discover shocks both of us, and we have no choice but to follow the clues....

Scott Eastwood and Indi Arndt are DIVINE together
Revisado: 02-15-20
The beginning of Hunter & Presley's story is awesome...I need more ASAP. (All 3 parts are out and I need to find time to listen to the ASAP!)
Hunter's life has taken off - he's a TV heartthrob, best selling author, and all-around great guy.
Presley's life has somewhat stalled...she's not where she hoped she be at this point in her life but in comes Hunter...back...after years of no communication...
The story captured my attention and I don't' want to wait for more but I have to!
I have always been a fan of Andi Ardnt so the narration for Presley was great. I LOVE Scott Eastwood's voice - it's smooth and sexy and deep...my only reservation was that at times it felt like he was just reading the book not ACTING the part of Hunter as often done. His voice is divine and even when he's JUST reading I love to listen but I would have preferred some more UMPHHH and heart with his side of the narration.

Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

Absolutely hysterical! A must listen!
Revisado: 09-08-19
You are seriously going to be LAUGHING OUT LOUD while listening to this book...like people might look at you. I had a few stares while walking through the grocery store while listening.
Heidi and her family will keep you cracking up - and Andi Arndt's Minesota accent had me rolling. Heidi's mom and Aunt...OMG - just hysterical.
Heidi finds herself with a new job, a recording studio that records audible books... dirty, sexy audible books. Now Heidi is a reader, but her "steamy" romances are often Amish romance, so the words and stories being told make her blush and she's so naive that you can't help but laugh. After a few glasses (of delicious box wine!) - Heidi records a podcast and the stuff that comes out of her mouth is so comical. She talks about how she's lusting after her neighbor...
With some help from her new work friends, Heidi begins to come out of her shell. Watching her become more comfortable with herself, and confidence grow was so sweet and rewarding.
"You betcha" this was a great audible and debut book by Andi Arndt. Tara Sivec's RomCom has always been a favorite of mine and "Dontcha know" these two a are a perfect mix!

Addictive audible
Revisado: 01-29-19
What a pleasant surprise this audible was. I haven't read/listened to this author yet so once I read the synopsis, I was hooked. I am loving the new AUDIBLE ORIGINAL books. I typically read a book then listen to the audible but I am so glad I took a chance on this audible.
Bodhi and Breeze are brought together at a vulnerable moment, fleeing a fire that could have possibly claimed both their lives. The writing and narrating was one point, descriptive and had me feeling the heat of the flames as they both were running from this nightmare.
Many would assume their attraction was due to having survived this time together, but they had an attraction more than the surface, more than their shared experience. Their back and forth banter was funny and light-hearted in a book that had many soul searching and hellish times. These two characters grew so much during the book, they each grew as individuals and as a couple.
I loved the story, I loved the character, Breeze's parents were a hoot.
Zachary Weber is one of my favorite authors - he has the ability to become each character he narrates. With each audible, I listen to that he narrates he makes his own. This is my first Callie Dalton audible but her portrayal of Breeze was great also.
I think that going back into J. Bengtsson's previous books is in my future.
