Stopped listening after "Good leaders invest in DEI programs."
Revisado: 02-14-24
The content was great and the stories were entertaining until he starting promoting racist DEI programs in the workplace and how to make trannies feel safe. We're all so sick of this divisive, racist, anti-Christian war against decency and traditional nuclear family values. I will not participate in this nonsense so I'm not listening any further but I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before he gets into the ESG scam as well.

Just Awful
Revisado: 06-20-21
This book sounds like a bad free ebook written by a foreigner who then hired someone off of fiverr to read.
Want to raise money? Have a bake sale, bake that shit so good it's irresistible and then people will HAVE to donate. Be sure to thank those that donated because without them your fundraising objectives could not have had the success you desire. Dead serious advice from this book.
So, if you want more gems like this, get this book.

A must read for every startup
Revisado: 05-24-17
Because I consume 60-80 books per year, I typically judge a book by the notes I take. If I don't take a lot of notes, I didn't take away very much or the content didn't provoke many new ideas. Not only did I take lots of notes but I took away a laundry list of new ideas and concepts to test with our own startup. I'll be ordering the print version as well to keep as a desk reference. Well done, guys and thank you!

Radically different, but profound
Revisado: 02-12-17
It's a very interesting take on forgiveness and why things happen to us in the first place. What I love about the process is its very empowering to the the forgiver because it gives them control. It helps people go from a level 1 consciousness (victimhood - life happens to me) to level 2 (manifesting - life happens for me by me). I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to raise their and the collective consciousness.

Historia
Most startups don't fail because they can't build a product. Most startups fail because they can't get traction. Startup advice tends to be a lot of platitudes repackaged with new buzzwords, but Traction is something else entirely. As Gabriel Weinberg and Justin Mares learned from their own experiences, building a successful company is hard. For every startup that grows to the point where it can go public or be profitably acquired, hundreds of others sputter and die.

Best book on startups
Revisado: 08-04-16
Been through about a dozen books on startups and this is by far the most useful and practical for helping doing exactly as the title suggests - getting traction. I know I'll be referring back to this book and going through it again and again.

Historia
The Antidote is a series of journeys among people who share a single, surprising way of thinking about life. What they have in common is a hunch about human psychology: that it’s our constant effort to eliminate the negative that causes us to feel so anxious, insecure, and unhappy. And that there is an alternative "negative path" to happiness and success that involves embracing the things we spend our lives trying to avoid.

Interesting Perspective
Revisado: 07-08-16
I've always been in the positive thinking, "Believe and Achieve," "Think and Grow Rich" camp and I know the correlation it's had to my own life's journey. However, I can certainly appreciate the differenct and opposing perspectives here.
I think some people have the misconception that, although we're all essentially after the same thing, there's only one way to go about it. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to life, happiness, success, etc. Find what makes sense to you.

Historia
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

Wholeheartedly Disagree
Revisado: 07-04-16
The whole premise of this book is to convince the reader that successful people such as Bill Gates and the Beatles were more products of fortunate situations and less of their own doing, which is total whiny socialist b.s., and anecdotal at best. What about the rest of us?
The author asks, "what would happen if a million other kids got endless access to a computer at 13 years old at the same time like Bill Gates?"
Take a look around you. How do you explain away the lack of success of millions of people with the same abundant opportunity as the rest of us? It is up to the attitude, determination, and work of the individual. The premise of this book mirrors the socialist remarks undermining the remarkability of Americans made be the president, both of which are anti-American.

Why do some people succeed and others fail? Sharing new insights from her landmark research on grit, MacArthur "genius" Angela Duckworth explains why talent is hardly a guarantor of success.

I love books on success and achievement, and this is the first one I can recall ever delving into grit as part of the process. Grit has to be one of the defining characteristics of every entrepreneur.
This book has very interesting content, good stories, and is well read. I definitely recommend it to all interested in success.

I watch a lot of TED talks on Netflix for the content but also because I speak at events and want to get better. This book just really made it so much easier for me. The only way your next talk won't be a remarkable success after consuming this book is If you ignore its principles.
