Story well written based on current events . Narrator is well suited to the story, and seems familiar with the story; actually seems as though he’s actually read the story prior to this.

Uncle Steve needs to leave his political views out …..
Revisado: 06-15-24
The story, as per usual was actually very good. It would have been far better if there weren’t so many opinionated references to “stupid” people who voted for President Trump, character’s negative comments about President Trump, people who refused vaccinations, etc.
I realize that my being a constant reader doesn’t make me important to Uncle Steve, but I don’t like feeling attacked in a book that was supposed to be entertaining.
Until this story, I loved the character of Holly, with all her quirky habits; I could identify with much of her personality. This story turned her into a stranger.
I will be returning this story.

Definitely a more humanized Story about Mordred

Historia
Aaron Fortin is new in town. He drives a brand-new Acura—a gift from his parents for uprooting him in the middle of senior year. Showing up on his first day at the local public school in that nice of a car? He knows he’ll never blend in, and he doesn’t care to try. The car, the new-kid mystique, he can use all that.... Crystal Giordano carpools to the same school in her friend Trevor’s beat-up van. In the van along with Crystal and Trevor are Paul, Harmony, and Gayle. Crystal’s technically part of their misfit group, but most of the time, she feels like she’s the only one who doesn’t fit.

Too true useto be ignored. Probably the most compelling thing I’ve come across to caution parents about the scope that social media can reach. ( and the perils it can cause)

Historia
No one knows exactly when it began or where it originated. A terrifying new plague is spreading like wildfire across the country, striking cities one by one: Boston, Detroit, Seattle. The doctors call it Draco Incendia Trychophyton. To everyone else it's Dragonscale, a highly contagious, deadly spore that marks its hosts with beautiful black and gold marks across their bodies - before causing them to burst into flames. Millions are infected; blazes erupt everywhere. There is no antidote. No one is safe.

Revisado: 09-03-22
Have been reading Joe Hill since he started writing….. this is his best yet.
Kate Mulgrew is a pleasure to listen to…. With the very minor exception of mispronounced Maine town names(which I wouldn’t know without having lived there) , she does a stellar job of crafting a very good listener experience.

Historia
Who am I? Who were these people who made me who I am? And, what was this place? Was it ever what I thought it was? For celebrated journalist and author Julie Salamon, these recently became central questions. Salamon spent the first 18 years of her life Seaman, Ohio, a town that is part of the American heartland, a repository of mythology and misunderstanding.

I truly enjoyed until……
Revisado: 07-12-22
I truly enjoyed this until Julie started to opine about modern politics. The first thing she said about President Trump wasn’t in keeping with the “ love and acceptance for all” theme of the rest of the story. And the later sentiments were worse.
I grew up a few years behind Julie, but had similar experiences. I could relate.
What I don’t like is people who blame Trump for the ills of our society,
Trump was elected because many of us think that the bureaucracy is corrupt, racist, and crooked, on BOTH sides.
Time to clean house.

Historia
There’s a dress in Daisy’s closet. Silver. Low-backed. Tiny spaghetti straps. She’ll wear it to prom on the arm of Harris Zandari, the most gorgeous senior at her school. How did quiet, barely-there Daisy, land Harris Zandari? She watched him. She watched him so closely, and for so long, that she saw things no one else did. She saw through his charm, his bright, smiling face, to the sad, broken person underneath just waiting for the perfect sad, broken girl to complete him. Daisy was that girl.

In his follow-up to the acclaimed Hellraisers, Sellers traces the intertwining lives and careers of four outrageous Hollywood movie mavericks. They’re the baddest bad-asses Hollywood as ever seen: Marlon Brando, Dennis Hopper, Warren Beatty, and Jack Nicholson. They are men to whom rules did not apply; normal standards of behavior were simply too wearisome to worry about.

The story is interesting, though the wording is as though written by someone whose first language is not English. Little phrases that are off by one word and a while lot if "F Words" sprinkled liberally throughout.
