Very slow story

I have enjoyed all of Ms. Holloway’s previous stories but this one was exceedingly slow paced and had no real
plot to it. I finished it but it seemed to take forever. ): I was disappointed but will try again with her next novel. I give this 3 stars because the narrator was so good!

Another good mystery! nother good mystery!

Another great story in this series. The narrator detracts from it all with her attempts at male voices that she whispers instead of changing to a deeper voice, so it not only doesn’t sound like a man but you have to turn it up to hear. It disrupts the whole story and am afraid the next in this series may have to be in book form even though all the narrator’s female voices are wonderful.

Great Characters

I love, and remember, every story I have read or listened to by this author. Ms. Colgan has such a way of having you truly understand her characters so you understand where they are coming from. Also, most of us have experienced life as these characters have so it makes connecting to the story even more memorable as The Good, the Bad and the Dumped does. Highly recommend.

Story was entertaining

I loved the novel and, if read, would have been even more enjoyable. The Virtual Voice narration, however, was not good. The AI voice was lovely but there was hardly any ending to sentences or paragraphs and no change in voice at all for different characters. This made a pretty monotonous listen but I was enjoying the story itself so kept listening but it became annoying quickly. I got this and the first book in this series at a very reduced rate on sale with this Virtual Voice narration but would not buy another at any price. I would rather read the book.

Again, the story was very entertaining and I am going to read the last book in the series instead of listen. Hopefully this author will not agree to Virtual Voice in the future and thank her in advance. (:

Storyline

This is one of the best books I have listened to in ages. Hard to accept how some treated others to gain money but have to accept the past some of us experienced and hope it is never repeated. The story was meaningful, deeply felt, uplifting and I carried it around with me for days afterward. Actually, I think I will carry it forever. Absolutely recommend for everyone. So many lessons to be absorbed here.

I made it to chapter 10 but there was not enough to hold my interest and I found I wasn’t paying attention anymore. The narrator’s seemed very slow, that may have added to it.

Too repetitive

I liked the story itselfa lot but too much of the same issue was drawn out way too long. The male lead also seemed to change his thoughts enough that it didn’t make sense except to extend the length of the story. I will try another book by this author and see how that goes.

Narrator’s voice

I’m sorry, I couldn’t listen long enough to get to any help. Narrator’s voice ends every sentence with a question mark to her tone and that is a personal pet peeve to me. I will look elsewhere for help.
