Historia
When George Abbershaw is invited to Black Dudley Manor for the weekend, he has only one thing on his mind - proposing to Meggie Oliphant. Unfortunately for George, things don't quite go according to plan. A harmless game turns decidedly deadly and suspicions of murder take precedence over matrimony. Trapped in a remote country house with a murderer, George can see no way out. But Albert Campion can.

I hope I didn't pay for this book
Revisado: 11-24-24
The story and characters are ridiculous. Somehow I had two books by this author in my library and I hope they were free from audible because it was a waste of money and time. I didn't enjoy the story, silly British characters or the performance. This book is only available in audible so I guess my public library knows best by not carrying this author.

Disappointed
Revisado: 11-11-24
I like the author and his books but I honestly don't know why he wrote this story. Sandy was the most unlikable "heroines" I've ever seen. Unbelievable that Grace loved and missed this person is beyond me. I expected so much more and I'm really sorry I purchased this story. I feel cheated. I will continue with the Roy Grace stories but if I run into another like this, I'm done with the series.

Historia
Jack Havoc, jail-breaker and knife artist, is on the loose on the streets of London once again. In the faded squares of shabby houses, in the furtive alleys and darkened pubs, the word is out that the Tiger is back in town, more vicious and cunning than ever. It falls to Albert Campion to pit his wits against the killer and hunt him down through the city's November smog before it is too late.

Revisado: 11-11-24
I didn't care for the narrator. He was over dramatic and with the various English dialects, almost non understandable. The girl was so terribly naive, I just couldn't find any character that interested me or that I cared about. Isn't that sad. I'm not inclined to listen to this author or narrator again. I feel I wasted my money and time as I struggled to finish the story.

Even better, her out of work son-in-law, Noel lands a job as a docent. A great start, at least that's what Amy thinks until the priceless figurines are stolen, and Noel stumbles across the dead body of a curator. Looking for a new mystery writer
Revisado: 07-24-24
I still don't know if I like the author yet because I really hate the virtual voice narration. The story seemed so convoluted and banal but I think party of it is the narration. There are so many really wonderful narrators that actually add to the story telling. I had to give one star for performance otherwise there wouldn't be any star for the performance. It's minus zero. Ugh.

Virtual voice sucks
Revisado: 07-12-24
I was so turned off by the virtual voice that I disliked the story, et al. This was a freebie and I'm so glad I didn't pay for it. I'm not sure I want to listen to another story by the author. I'll be keeping an eye out for this"virtual voice" thing. Ugh.

I could not stand the narrator! She was terrible and I don't plan on listening to the other books in the series.
