Strong character development
Revisado: 04-26-25
Couldn’t stop listening. I love the characters. It makes it easy to forgive some of the decisions they make that really wouldn’t have went down the way they did. Great narration. You root for them and grieve with them: laugh and cry.

Historia
Joe doesn't care about politics, or what happened. The grid is down, and every day is a struggle to survive. He just knows his world went to Hell when the EMPs ended life as he knew it. Joe scrambled to hide from all of the craziness, but kept his sanity, and improved his lot in life by reading some witty survival notes that his dead grandma had left him. She'd been a prepper all her life, and she had been close to Joe. Joe grows and learns, but can he survive? Listen to this complete series to find out how a regular guy survives in a post-apocalyptic world.

Clever storyline but too much jumping in and out of bed
Revisado: 10-30-24
I liked Grandma but immediately disliked the main character Joe for his reaction to his fiancé dying a week before his wedding and having Chester on him. Laughing at her? Saying she was a BI bad word and always had been? Then why were you still engaged?
The female main character is a single mom and losing her home that day yet finds time to follow a customer around listing after how hot he was?
And the middle school aged characters talking about sex and the adults having it every other scene is just too much.
I have tried to listen to this series twice but I just can’t get past all unrealistic relationships and responses by adults who are trying to survive the apocalypse.

Many gaps in the plot
Revisado: 05-07-24
I really tried to like this series. I just could not overcome so many unreasonable and illogical gaps in the plot. Case in point: When a supposedly deranged stalker who has made repeated attempts to take you jumps into your tent and you say “don’t shoot him it won’t do any good.” Really? I think it would do all kinds of good. Then supposedly the female lead is worried about his next attempt.
Also: how do they have so many town meetings at night in the winter without any lights? How does a family sell a house and pay to have everything removed but somehow camping gear, an axe and canned food all get left behind by mistake?
The narration using some many voices was just off-putting. And distracting and chaotic.

Fresh look at Adam and Eve
Revisado: 01-26-21
I really enjoyed the “what If” approach to applying some logical thinking about the most ancient of all Bible stories. A look at how the cursed could have played out between Adam and Eve resonated with me. The narration was also fantastic. Well worth the purchase!

Couldn’t wait for the next chapter
Revisado: 01-26-21
The first two books were stimulating and provocative and this ending story in the trilogy didn’t disappoint.
The biblical context in the epilogue fascinated and inspired me to dig deeper past the childhood Bible story of Noah and his descendants.
The narration is also excellent making the overall experience very positive. I am looking forward to more novels by the author.

Historia
"You will be called Anippe, daughter of the Nile. Do you like it?" Without waiting for a reply, she pulls me into her squishy, round tummy for a hug. I’m trying not to cry. Pharaoh's daughters don't cry. When we make our way down the tiled hall, I try to stop at ummi Kiya's chamber. I know her spirit has flown, yet I long for one more moment. Amenia pushes me past so I keep walking and don't look back. Like the waters of the Nile, I will flow.

I am looking forward to the second book, Miriam being added to the Audible offerings. I can’t wait.
