I like the idea of the story but I can't stand the cheating, and the author over explains. I prefer more the the show don't tell method of writing. don't tell be she's brave, show me a time she was brave and let me deduct that myself.

TOG and ACOTAR waste of a credit

A water downed Aelin from TOG and Rhys from ACOTAR. lots of parallels from both stories. I know it's hard to be 100% original now a days with so many fantasy books out, but it just seems too close to be not a fanfic of Aelin and Rhys. It's not a bad book at all, just not what I was expecting after reading other reviews.


FMC is very whiny, bratty, and dense

On top of all that, the major conflict is not a conflict at all. She avoided the topic of her being Fae, her mother, and all magic. Sorin tried, and she shut him down over and over and over again. Then she's mad at him for not telling her about being Fae, who her mom is, and magic.

She also HATES the fire prince for killing her mom. she we don't even know why she thinks the fire prince killed her mom.

she also can't grasp the fact that she's been taught one side of history and can't accept anything but what she wants to be fact. As long as it doesn't disrupt her views on life.

honestly, I think I'm being generous with 3 stars. Does anyone know if FMC is less pitiful in the rest of the series.

Gabe deserves better. He was there through a lot never left her side. Was the first to be trusted and caring and stand up against the other for her, and what the last to be bonded.

I dislike how the narrator changed from book 1 to book 2, I also favor E.Evans narration.FMC seemed weak maybe wines is a better word.

I also couldn't stand the "I'm mad at Faith because she should have tried harder. She should have been there for me" REALLY!!!! Faith saved your life and is locked up how is she suppose to be there for you when she sacrificed her self for you. Now it's your turn to help her. not be jealous.

I feel like if the author wanted there to be friction between the characters she could have came up with a better scenario. You have Jackon saying how amazing Marlo is and how caring a selfless she is, but non of marlos actions are saying this at all. - it's nice to see Jackons pov of Marlo vs Faith's cause they see different sides of her but it's almost too different. To the point we're they seem like completely different people they're referring to.

I think it's important for you to know before starting that the book up until chapter 11 (3 hrs) is told when they are 16 . They also most indefinitely act 16 but I have a hard time reading teenagers POV's it was hard to get through. she also gets Pregnant by another boy after her and Love Interest break up. She's Sexually Assulted which I believe she have had a warning somewhere as it might be hard or disturbing for some readers.
