I want to be Jane Harper in my next life!

This was such an exciting and fun book. had me cracking up the whole time I listen to each one. It was a Jane Harper Marathon this weekend! I love reading a book with a strong female lead. As much as Jane doesn't want to hear this she also has a tender heart when it counts. Intelligent and fantastical enough to sweep me away to another world. I wish there I wish there were more Jane Harper stories. we all need it in this day and age.

Dread and Vulnerability

Their stories usually fill me with dread and a sense of vulnerability. This series did not disappoint! I read a lot of horror so this feelings is testament to the superb quality of their writing.

Good Story

I loved the premise of this story. Would have been a five if it had been more concise. Toward the middle of the book I almost gave up but, darn it, I used a credit for this and was going to finish it.

Performance of Sam was excellent! Loved the humor. I love a little juxtaposition of humor in my horror.

Beautiful Horror Story

This is the most beautiful Horror Story I've ever listened to. LOL It made me remember the old stories my mother told of my grandparents. It made me remember phrases and words I haven't said in years. I have to admit that Nena frustrated the heck out of me at first. I won't go into detail right now but once you listen to the book you'll understand. This is a book I want to keep forever. I'm buying a hard copy and listening to it many times!

Sphincter

Maybe I should have read the book instead of listening on audio. I can only hear the word "Sphincter" so many times. After a while it felt like a PTSD trigger.
The story itself was fairly good. It was a good idea learning about the characters first but maybe not so much next time.

The story itself is suspenseful, dark and moody. the narration ruins the mood. Everyone sounds like a drunk Muppet. It leaves me confused and annoyed.

this is the kind of story audible is all about. I could read the book which is still perfectly fine. the narration is superb and relays the mood exactly. I can imagine myself being Mom in the next Mia.

I'm in love with this book

I first read this book when I was a teenage girl. I loved the story for the beauty of the land, the romance and the love story. 40 years later those things still touch my heart however the battles, the conflict and of all things the last part of the story in Afghanistan are now the parts I enjoyed the most. I had forgotten that part of the story in Afghanistan. The conflict and the battle especially the battles involving Wally we're thrilling and suspenseful. I learned that Afghanistan has not changed very much. I've learned that we still make the same mistakes in that hard country.
