it was good
Revisado: 08-17-24
only nit-pick was the sound effects were too loud compared to the narration, making it very difficult to understand what was said (you know, the whole point of a audio book)
the narration was good, the sound affects were a little repetitive but not enough to be annoying,
and the music wasn't terrible.

too short, missing motivations for antagonist.
Revisado: 08-05-24
The main antagonist seems to lack a comprehensible motivation. Her treatment of and hostility toward the protagonist makes no sense based on their previous relationship.
Her race choice of demon is treated as something terrible when it's literally a game with hundreds of race choices, and no explanation as to why it was a bad choice was even vaguely hinted at.
like the MC sees her starting the game as a demon, and acts like she's chosen drug addict as her race,
acting very upset and asking himself why she would have chosen it.
It's very short, like 11 chapters, and feels like it's only 1/3 of the way through when the book ends.
And the narrator pronounces a few words in a way that makes me cringe.
He pronounces "chitin" as "chit'in" instead of "kai'tin."
And worse (because it's used much more frequently), he pronounces "dungeon" as "Done'John"
his voice and inflections are not bad at all just those parts got under my skin.

Historia
Richard Royal has a hard life. He lives in a corrupt, church-controlled dystopia, his family is soon broken, and the only joy to be had comes from the escapism of his full-immersion gaming. Introduced to a new and very illegal game, he finds himself in the body of a dragon, on a quest to find a dark and evil power to serve. But the game is more than it seems, and the dragon is more than a beast. Soon Rich's life is far, far more complicated than he ever expected. And the threats against him grow, both in-game and in realspace.

Horny Fat teen with religious/political overtones
Revisado: 02-25-24
The MC was just so unlikeable,
an annoying, lazy, whiny, horny teen.
It's sad because certain ideas were actually interesting, like loging in and out switching bodies with his in game dragon, making coding like a secret magic in the world,
idk if the author hates Christians or just watched handmaid's tale 1 too many times, but it sounds like it.
and the pro socialist remarks were annoying.
Good ideas with terrible MC, and way too much political and religious propaganda to be able to enjoy.
also I'm just personally not a fan of dystopian future setting myself.
it just comes off like wildstyle form the 2nd Lego movie monologuing about depression lol
if you like socialism, hate Christians, enjoy listening to a fat, horny teen talk about how he wishes he could have some virtual sex all the time,
oh boy will you love this one.

Historia
Angela wakes up in an unfamiliar world, surrounded by thousands of others. Several thousand gamers were summoned from Earth to another world in the hopes they would be able to prevent the annihilation of the last stronghold of humanity. For many, it's kidnapping. For others, it's a rebirth. For Angela, it's just...confusing, because until she was summoned, Angela was a man! Years ago, emissaries from another world, called Geamhlúrt, arrived on Earth looking for help to save their world. In the end, they created an online game which mimicked the abilities and conditions which the ...

decent story, but it has enough wrong that I won't continue.
Revisado: 02-21-24
the story isn't bad, has some good ideas,
but the automated narrator is just unpleasant to listen to, I've listened to a couple other ones with the auto narrator and it doesn't get better with time. 😆
so I'll skip any ones in future with it for a while until it improves a bit.
and frankly the gender swap is just off-putting.
the character would have been perfectly fine as a normal female lead.
and I don't know if the AI is pronouncing the names of the new race of the world right but (Gee-Flirt-in) sounds silly and a little lame.
the main character (nix the gender bend) was actually made interesting, from her interest in weapon and armor design, instead of just being super good at hitting stuff. 😆
while the side characters were a little flat.

Historia
Maulkin didn't know dying would mean a new eternity of dungeon delving, monster slaying, and glory hunting. If he had, he wouldn't have been so worried about kicking the bucket on a date gone even more wrong than usual. Reborn in the wild world of Amaranth, Maulkin finds himself in a hulking demi-human body with a sword of a size to match. Marked as an Eternal, a fledging immortal of boundless potential, Maulkin soon discovers he's been given a mission by the elder pantheon of this new realm.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

the first one starts good, and even the second one is okay, but it sharply declines from there, not a great series overall.

Historia
When Runnel leaves his mountain valley to head for the great city of the water mages, he has no idea of his own magical talents. But he soon finds that without meaning to, he complicates and then endangers the lives of everyone he comes to know and care about. For when it comes to magic, there are rules and laws, and the untrained mage-to-be must be careful not to tap into deep forces and ancient enmities. Otherwise, other people might end up paying the price for his mistakes.

good but with a few issues.
Revisado: 10-18-20
the premise was good, and the story had promise,
the biggest problem was that it felt abridged.
it started out good, and the pacing was good.
until the ending, the ending felt rushed and incomplete, like a 3/4 of the book was skipped and jumped right into the climax.
no character development, no learning curve.
nothing to give the admittedly exelent ending, weight or meaning.
